Term Limits will make sure that elected officials don't stay in office 20+ years
Term Limits will allow for new ideas, more responsive government, and new leadership.
Term limits are supported by Democrats, Republicans, and Independents across the country as a tool for healthy government.
Term limits help reduce corruption and help get BIG money out of politics! Term limits help limit career politicians and give ordinary people the opportunity to run for office.
Term limits are common and work in other Maryland jurisdictions. Current term limits are in place for the county councils in Howard, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, and Montgomery Counties. We also have term limits for the county executives in Baltimore County, Harford, Howard, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s and Montgomery County.
Nine of the 10 largest cities in America have term limits, including: New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, and San Jose.
Term limits do NOT prohibit the same elected official from serving up to 8 years in different offices, such as council member, council president and mayor.
